A hearing officer shall disclose any conflict of interest or ex parte communications with the person filing a complaint, the person that is the subject of the complaint or any witnesses to it before conducting an investigation or holding a hearing under this chapter. The person filing the complaint or a person responding to it has 10 business days from the date the written disclosure is sent to the parties to file an objection to the hearing officer with the city clerk. Upon receiving an objection, the city clerk shall appoint a new hearing officer. (Ord. 22-13(AM) § 3, 2022)
