A. Employees of the city are not covered by the federal Social Security system.

B. Employees who hold regular full-time, regular part-time, and confidential/managerial positions shall be enrolled in the State of Alaska Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) on their date of hire unless the position is exempt from PERS in accordance with the PERS agreement between the city and the state of Alaska. All city employees shall be enrolled in the State of Alaska Supplemental Annuity Plan on their date of hire. (Ord. 14-16(AM) § 4, 2014; Ord. 03-33(SUB)(AM) § 2, 2003)
